Kwame Kwei-Armah - one of Bruce Castle Museum's Local Heroes
Bruce Castle Museum (Haringey Culture, Libraries and Learning) has historical collections that reflect the different communities in the London borough of Haringey.
We work with residents, groups and other partners to collect, interpret and care for Haringey's unique and multicultural heritage. Our collections cover archaeology, objects, documents & official records, photographs, paintings and oral histories relevant to Haringey's past and present communities.
Bruce Castle Museum is always seeking to represent more communities in Haringey. Collections currently include material for the following groups: Irish, Caribbean, African, Greek Cypriot, and Jewish. Some of our collections for these groups can be seen on the Moving Here website: www.movinghere.org.uk.
‘Haringey Connections’ – based on material from our collections – is an education resource pack available for teachers and community groups. It covers the Black presence, the Jewish Community and the Irish in Haringey.
For access to our collections, please contact us to discuss your research requirements and to make an appointment.
